Festival of New Music for Treble Voices

Robert Geary

Combining the voices of Volti, Peninsula Womens Chorus, Ancora and Ensemble from the Piedmont East Bay Childrens Choir, plus other treble choirs TBA, under the artistic direction of Martin Benvenuto.

The idea for the festival emerged out of the realization that several of the most nationally- and internationally-acclaimed treble choirs reside within the Bay Area. These choirs have been leaders in both commissioning and performing new music. Volti, a professional choir whose mission is to showcase and share contemporary American music, has invited the other treble choirs to join in a festival celebrating new works.

“[Volti] may well be the finest collection of chamber singers in the country… I have yet to encounter its equal. They're miraculous, a treasure of the local scene.” -- Heuwell Tircuit, SFCV
