Volti is proud to invite the Bay Area's finest ensembles to share the stage in a showcase of innovative and imaginative choral music for treble voices. This year Volti welcomes Peninsula Women's Chorus under the direction of Martin Benvenuto, along with Ancora and Ensemble from the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir.

The idea for the festival emerged out of the realization that several of the most nationally- and internationally-acclaimed treble choirs reside within the Bay Area. These choirs have been leaders in both commissioning and performing new music. Volti, a professional choir whose mission is to showcase and share contemporary American music, has invited the other treble choirs to join in a festival celebrating new works.

This special program will feature recently commissioned works as well as works with innovative vocal or compositional techniques by Lili Boulanger, Frank Ferko, Cristián Grases, Elliott Gyger, Pekka Kostiainen, Mark Winges, and others.

“[Volti] may well be the finest collection of chamber singers in the country… I have yet to encounter its equal. They're miraculous, a treasure of the local scene.” -- Heuwell Tircuit, SFCV
